An Intro to Improv
Want to try something new this O-week? Don't worry, you'll still have time to get your obligatory alcohol intake for the evening or for those awkward first year flirtations or whatever students do these days.
The University of Canterbury Drama Society Incorporated
We're a student society, that doubles as a theatre company, with almost 100 years of experience running shows, festivals, and general hi-jinks. We aim to produce quality shows, promote a safe space to give theatre a go, and support drama and performing arts in the wider Christchurch community.

One of the best ways for a writer to hear the play is through a rehearsed reading. These can often be a good way for trained actors to make a few extra dollars on the side and be a part of the creative process in developing a script. The two hour workshop will centre around the process of developing text for a rehearsed reading, making strong character choices, and bringing as much to the text as possible.
After the success of last year's sessions, Dramasoc is proud to present two more workshops with experienced theatre practitioner Alice Canton. This time around we will be exploring how to take an idea from concept to proposal to full-blown show.
Dramasoc is pleased to offer our members another workshop with the wonderful Alice Canton from the Court Theatre.
This is a chance to gather some tools in text analysis, casting, and character breakdown. Learn how to apply these processes to scenes in groups and pairs.
