Almost, Maine

A series of vignettes about relationships, love, and loss all set in the small American town of Almost, Maine. John Cariani's 2004 play is a modern classic that DramaSoc is more than excited to bring to the stage this March. With a full ensemble cast, the play covers the vast spectrum of human emotion; at times funny, sad, and dramatic, it's a fascinating and entertaining ride through the human experience.

Titus Andronicus

Aging Roman general Titus Andronicus returns victorious from war to a loving family and a peaceful retirement. However, he is surrounded by enemies, all of whom are plotting to destroy the life he has built for himself. Will Titus be able to prevent this bloody revenge? And if he does, how much of him will be left?

DramaSoc presents Shakespeare's bloodiest play, a show so controversial that some have claimed it has to have been written by someone else.

The Arsonists

The Arsonists is a classic satire by Swiss playwright Max Frisch. It tells the story of Gottlieb Biedermann, an average businessman who accidentally lets two arsonists stay in his house. The Arsonists is an hilarious but dark depiction of how normal people allow evil to flourish when they do nothing.

Physical and Devised Theatre Workshop with Hwyl Theatre

DramaSoc is pleased to announce our first workshop of semester 2 - Physical and Devised Theatre, led by Harry Lawrence of Hwyl Theatre! This workshop is free, but we ask that you sign up by filling out the Google form attached at the end. The workshop will be two hours, but is listed for three to allow time for a break in between sections. Please note that although this event is open to the public, Hwyl Theatre and DramaSoc reserve the right to ask anyone who is behaving inappropriately to leave.

It will take place in Drama Workshop 1, just inside the Jack Mann Auditorium building on UC's Dovedale campus. Please bring a water bottle and clothing you are comfortable moving in.

The first hour will cover physical theatre, This is a form of theatre that focuses on telling stories through movement rather than dialogue. Although the name may sound scary, we promise it will be a positive and safe environment to learn this skill in.

The second hour will cover devising theatre. It will not explore how to create dialogue or a script, but rather the techniques that can be used to create a devised show.

If you have any questions or concerns you can reach out to Harry at: hwyltheatreco@outlook.com

Please register by filling out this google form:
